We have Oracle 8i running under Windows 2000 Advanced Server environment.

We are going to shift to a new domain and decided to change the computer name also.

We have found that DELPHI needs to be reinstalled after changing the computer name.

My question is whether changing the computer name affects the existing Oracle 8i installation?

Whether I have to reinstall Oracle again if I change the computer name?

It will not be fatal ( in most cases, unless you have done some specific configurations like RAC)
You may need to change the HOST value in your listener.ora , sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora ( in the client side).
