Hi,
I have problem installing Oracle 8i EE on Windows NT. I choose typical installation of Enterprise edition and at initialization of database show error Ora-01012. What is the problem?
I do not have PC in LAN yet? What should i write when installation ask for Global Database Name? (PC name or ......?

Hi,
Global database name is same as SID name ie. name for your database name. It's NOT the machine name. Give a name for your database.

hello,
global database name is the name that you want to assign to your database, not the system name.
Regarding the error u r getting,
when creating the database, after producing all the parameters, when the window prompts you for
"Create database now / save it to a batch file "
Select save it to a batch file and then run that batch file, you will know where is the problem, and u can rectify the bug..

When I use batch file, I found out where is the problem, NLS parameters was wrong!
