Lock oracle`s forms [message #649230]

Hello Friends

Kindly guide me how to lock oracle`s forms run only on one computer. I mean, I want that no one can copy oracle`s forms to other computers.

That's not really an oracle problem - it's a pc/network security problem. Stick the forms on a server. Deny every access to the server.
Don't you have general IT guys to take care of these things?

Moreover, as it seems that you use Forms 6i (which is based on your previous messages where you mentioned version you have) and it is a client-server version, you - generally speaking - copy forms to every computer that uses the application.

On the other hand, only you - as a developer - should have FMBs. Put FMXs to client computer(s) if you are worried that someone might modify the source.

Hi ,

actually I have made a accounts software . I want that this software can be run only allowed computer .If some one can be copy FMX files . fmx file cant to be open to other system. Kindly guide me how to protect my FMX files.

You can check the pc name or IP address to confirm that this is the validate PC on which your forms can be run.

Put the files somewhere only the pc administrator can get at. Make sure all users aren't administrator.

Create a Text file like a note pad file. Put some text of your choice and copy that file to on all valid computers to a hidden location and of course that location must be same for all pc. And read that file's text through your form to validate the computer. In addition you can apply an encryption on the text to make it more secure and decrypt it in forms to read and match your text.

I hope this should resolve your issue.

Since he wants the forms on a single computer only my approach seams a lot simpler.
