Is there a possible way on making edits on the outline of a certain Dimension Cube in Essbase Admin Services?

Example:
go to your application, click expand button(+)
then go to your database, click expand button(+)
right click on outline, edit.

Parent1
 Child1
 Child2.1

Parent2
 child2.2

Using Maxl Script how can I cut the Child2.1 and paste it as a Child of Parent2?
regards, Miss pum.

This is the first ESSBASE question that I have seen posted to this site.
I have no idea if any of the regulars have any knowledge on ESSBASE.
I certainly don't.

If you meant to open another topic here, on OraFAQ, then please don't. The new message(s) will be merged with this one anyway and, eventually, deleted as duplicates.

If you meant to ask that question on some other forum (different from OraFAQ), please do.

I hope so; there might be people here who will be able to assist. I just don't know any of them.

Not sure if this helps in anyway.
change the child2.1 position in flat file..(if loading using flat file)
or try using a Load Rule.

hi, I cross-posted this thread to a dedicated essbase forum, and I found out that there were no ways to script changes in dimension cubes via maxl script directly.
On the other hand, the answer above is correct, this is ALWAYS been the answer. But I am looking for some other ways to automate directly.
I had said many things and therefore found out that maxl scripts only imports. not edit metadata.
thanks guys! -miss pum
