when you login to sql plus or svrmgrl, EE or SE will be displayed.
SQL*Plus: Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production on Mon Jan 13 15:02:12 2003

with SE many tools and functionalities are not available like Advanced Security, change management
pack, diagnostic pack, partitioning, oracle parallel
server, advanced replication etc.
BUT THE BASE FUNCTIONALITY FOR A RDBMS EXISTS WITH SE.

yes.
But why would one "move" to standard edition?
id doesnt have many features.
and wat do u mean by "Move"?
move data?
SE is different from EE.
i mean SEPERATE CD's.

The licensing cost is different. Of coarse more for EE than SE. And then accordingly you get less features.
