Oracle Service cann't start - WIN 2K Server - P3 - 8.1.6 [message #55217]

After applying all the patches(8.1.6.1.1, 8.1.6.1.3 and W2Kdomfix and a reboot the Oracle service doesn't start, shows as starting! LSNRCTL looks fine. Before the application of patches, could do svrmgrl and connect.
Any clues about where to look?

set your ORACLE_SID and try again.
if it is not helping you, continue with this.
look your sqlnet.ora
if an entry like this exists,
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
change it to
NONE
or comment it out.

Tried both without any luck!
lsnrctl is working fine. All the Win2K Server processes start fine!
Can start and shutdown the instance with svrmgrl.
Had to rename some files in BIN to make all the three patches to go thru successfully! System says all patches are done
Cann't start the service from Oracle Admin. Asst. tool! Get an "Failed to start service.error(0x80070420)
Cann't start the Ent, Mgr. console using the host name and the default sysman/oem_temp - error "vtk-1000 (Unable to connect to the management server xxxx.xxxx.com. Please verify that you have entered the correct hostname and status of the Oracle management Server". Didn't want to start digging about "oms".

Kind of confused where to look for a lead!
