Hi all,

I’m running two instances on my machine (w2k, Oracle 8.1.7 EE), called o817 and demo. When I start svrmgrl/sql*plus, I use the connect-string “connect user/pass@demo”. Now my question: Is this sufficient for identifying the DB or do I have to specify the SID with set “oracle_sid=demo” too?

Thank you in advance
