Hello ,
Thanks for information, but i am unable find weather our's is standard edition or Enterprise edition.
With this query ..I get these version details
--------------------
SELECT * FROM SYS.V_$VERSION
Oracle8 Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production
PL/SQL Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production
CORE Version 4.0.5.0.0 - Production
TNS for Intel SVR4 UNIX: Version 8.0.5.0.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 3.3.2.0.0 - Production
---------------------------
and with this query
select * from sys.v_$option
I get
Partitioning FALSE
Objects FALSE
Parallel Server FALSE
Advanced replication FALSE
Bit-mapped indexes FALSE
Connection multiplexing TRUE
Connection pooling TRUE
Database queuing FALSE
Incremental backup and recovery FALSE
Instead-of triggers FALSE
Parallel backup and recovery FALSE
Parallel execution FALSE
Parallel load FALSE
Point-in-time tablespace recovery FALSE
So,by seeing the above 2 query results just help to analyse weather ours is entrprise edition or standard edition.
Thank You.

According to your banner, you're running Standard Edition. If you would be running EE, this would be included in the banner, and it would show up like:Oracle8 Enterprise Edition Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production For Oracle8i, it's the same: no identification of the Edition (SE or EE) if it is SE, otherwise the phrase 'Enterprise Edition' is included.
HTH,
MHE
