As we know that each logical volume has two device files: one is used when accessing the logical volume
in character mode, the other is used when accessing the logical volume in block mode.
when I create tablespace or add datafiles to a tablesapce,which one is a better choice?
thanks !

Is not up to U !

U don't have to choose ... mount Ur logical drive and let Oracle do it ... to answer it's block mode..

Are the following two statements all right ?

1.
alter tablesapce users add datafile '/dev/vgora2/rv1_data31' ;
2.
alter tablesapce users add datafile '/dev/vgora2/v1_data31' ;
