gotcha.!
as i told before SERVERTYPE is not an oracle proprietory parameter( unless u use OLE/oo4o and it makes no sense as per ur mail).
what my guess is SERVERTYPE=your_local_host_name.
check if the hostname=servertype ( as per your old configuration)
if the hostname or anything is not changed ( after your new oracle configuration),
just try to DO SOMETHING with your applicaton (and still u didnt mention what kind of app is that?
ASP??)
