Hi there,
We are having some performance issues when some customers query our database via the extranet, but one customer especially is having trouble. The way it works is that a customer logs in on the extranet, does a couple of queries and then logs out. The info is then displayed on the customer's screen. We have traced the problem to be at the back-end (When the querying starts on the database until it ends). Sometimes the same operation takes 3seconds and sometimes it takes 3 minutes! I have done traces of the user's session and compared it with another user's session that is not having the troubles, and can see nothing out of the ordinary, The only difference is that user A(with the problems) is doing these queries much more than any of the other users.
Why is the preformance not consistant?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thnx,
Jaco

In reading the original post, this sounds very similar to what we are experiencing as well. The only difference is that we are internal users only. They are hitting a Red Hat Server on 8.1.7.1 through a novell network with IP. We have been searching for a solution for weeks and have not found anything. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
