I installed Oracle 8i on Windows 2000. Everything else works fine. But I can't lauch Database Configuration Assistant.
Any suggestions?

Are u using Pentium IV ? Is yes look at Metalink and download the patch. It's a java problems.

Yes, it took me a while to get around this problem to install 8i. Could you tell me the patch#? I searched the metalink and couldn't find it.

For Pentium IV there are certain workarounds before the installation or use of the JVM takes place. It's more related to the Pentium IV architecture than to Oracle.
