Hi,

I am a newbie to Oracle. I am interesting at praticing forms and reports. I just installed Oracle9i enterprise edition, I am wondering what more (best fit for 9i) I need to install to build forms and reports.
Thanks.

You'll need the Oracle9iDS (Developer Suite), previously known as Developer/2000. This includes the Forms Builder, and the Reports Builder.

If you can't find the CD, you can go to otn.oracle.com and via "downloads" you can select the Forms Developer or Reports Developer. They both refer to the same installation package, so it doesn't matter which one you select. But beware: this is only for non-commercial use.

Once you have the Oracle 9i RDBMS installed, you have to create a database instance with DBCA (c:>dbca), then follow the GUI screens.

Then run your universal Installer and select the Developer 9i which includes the Forms/Reports installation. Oracle now bundles everything on the three CD-ROM's for Oracle 9i. Once you finished that, configure TNS alias for your database and try to connect from Forms/Reports to the database.

Hope that helps,
