in the win32 version of oracle8i theres a program called oradim.exe. I've looked all over my linux installtion and i'm unable to find that executable. Is there a utitlity with a similar function in linux? or is my installtion wrong? (Just incase anyone is wondering i searched for oradim not oradim.exe) I appreciate the help....

Hi,

If you want to maintain password file by using oradim, you can use orapwd in linux.

Hello Jonah,

I think that oradim is exclusive to Windows environment only. It is used to create/setup oracle services.

Someone can verify this information, but this is my understanding.

Cheers!

Thanks all for responding so quickely, i appreciate your input. I guess theres no reason for having oradim in linux b/c there are no Oracle "Services".

Cheers!
