Greetings Everyone!
Rollback segments that is not part of the rollback_segments list in the init file still goes online on every database startup.
Bug search on metalinks did not give any results.
We are on Oracle version 8.1.7 running on WinNT.
Gratutudes to you in advance.

Make sure that there is ONLY 1 init.ora file in the system/file system.
Easiest test is to rename this file and see if Oracle starts up or not. If it still starts, then there is DEFINITELY another copy of init.ora file in the file system. Find it.
I came across this as once, as the previous DBA before me put the init.ora file in the /usr/bin folder (UNIX). When I made changes in the init.ora file and did not see the changes in the system, had to go around looking for the init.ora file. I found out the hard way.
Good luck.
