Hi experts,

I got an error ora-1118. Solution to solve it is to change maxdatafiles at control files.

What are the steps to change the maxdatafiles at control files?

Regards

To fix the ORA-01118 error, you have:
1. backup your db
2. alter database backup controlfile to trace; from svrmgrl.
3. open the trace file from UDUMP. remove everything before STARTUP NOMOUNT; CREATE CONTROLFILE...
4. edit the MAXDATAFILES parameter in this file.
5. shutdown your database
6. run this file from svrmgrl as SYSTEM user.
7. alter database open

Hope that helps,
