Dear All,

I want to mask or encrypt visibility of sensitive data during import or export.
Is there an option to take care while doing datapump import or should i handle this while exporting.

Any ideas or suggestions ...

thanks
LB

Read ENCRYPTION parameter http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28319/dp_export.htm

You can buy and use Data Masking option, it is made for that.

Do you want to encrypt the data inside the dump? (Lalit's answer).
Or do you want to encrypt (cypher/obfuscate) the data inside your target database? (My answer).

Who is Bruno in this thread?

Anyway, to encrypt the data in the target database, you need to go with Michel's answer.

Bruno answered in the same topic in DBA-Village:
http://www.dba-village.com/village/dvp_forum.OpenThread?ThreadIdA=71981&SkipA=0

where OP mentioned he do not want to write any code and Bruno suggested to write some.
And I bet OP did not understand the complexity of such solution... which makes Data Masking a paying option. Smile
