Hi all,

Here's a question needs to be solved.
Iam having a diskgroup with some disks and I added few more disks to that group.
As we know that ASM Re-balancing happens.
But, suppose there is data about 10-20 TB in my disks.
How does Oracle internally manages ? because spreading that much of data to all new disks is a joke.
Thanks

Joke In the sense spreading that whole data will not be that much easy. will take lots of time.
How Oracle manages it internally?

Rebalancing is done by background processes launched by the ASM instances. You can control how many processes. You can monitor the progress of the operation.

Yes it spreads them which does mean it moves all of them.
