I was trying to upgrade from Oracle 8.1.6 to 8.1.7.
For that without un-installing Oracle 8.1.6. I inserted the Oracle 8.1.7 CD and installed it.

At the end of upgradation,we got following message when loging through SQL-PLUS:-
----------------------------------------------------

Error accessing package DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO
Error:
ORA-06553: PLS-707:Unsupported construct or internal error
(2603)

This message comes every time we login through SQL-PLUS
----------------------------------------------------

This Message does not come if i create a new database in Oracle 8.1.7 and login through SQL-PLUS.

How do i upgrade the databases which were already created in Oracle 8.1.6 to Oracle 8.1.7, so that the above message disappears?.

Can any one give some solutions?.

i beleive,the upgrade has failed.
so, try to do the same process again, with
this init parameter setting.

_system_trig_enabled=false

if this is not helping you....it might be a bug.
