Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has gotten 9i R2 to automatically shutdown? and if so how? I tried various ways of doing this such as creating a dbora script inside /etc/rc.d/init.d and then registering with chkconfig. This dbora script runs fine from the command line when I supply it with a "start" or "stop" or "reload" argument. And when I reboot my machine it shows that this script runs and gives the output [[ok]] but oracle is never started or shutdown. Has anyone sucessfully set up automatic startup and shutdown for 9i R2?
Thanks.
Tracy

Yes. On both Solaris and RedHat.

Make sure you are running your start/shutdown scripts as root.

Hope that helps,
