How do you know which patches are installed on an Oracle database? Is there a command to figure that out? Thanks a lot...

On all platforms you can use the Installer and click on the "Installed Products" button. The list of the products and the current patches is listed there.
If you don't like the GUI, then on UNIX - $ORACLE_BASE/oraInventory/Patches
For Windows - c:program filesoracleinventorypatches
Hope that helps,

That show the db instance version only. It doesn't show the binaries (SQL*Plus, RDBMS, SQL*Loader, Export, Import, Net8, etc.) versions.
Also in some patch levels not all the products in the Oracle installation are patched. The most correct one is to look at the Oracle Inventory list.
Hope that helps,
