Hi,

Apparently I can't log out of the forum anymore in Google Chrome. I have cleared my browser history and restarted the browser. Especially as a moderator I don't feel comfortable with it.

Check this message. It is posted without logging in.

Edit: this message is posted without logging in as well.

I just tried it (Windows 7 Professional 32-bit, Chrome 31.0.1650.63 m). I didn't "clear" anything. Logged out successfully. Then I tried to reply to your message (and pushed the REPLY button) which opened a log in page, requesting username and password.

Strange. I can't be bothered that much but I can do about anything without logging in and I have rights to delete and modify posts. That makes me a bit uncomfortable. So I'll try to reinstall Chrome and see what happens.

Did you, by any chance, switch the computer off after doing what you did (log off, clear cache and stuff)? What happened when you turned it back again?

FWIW, I can't log out either. I clicked "log out" and re-started Chrome (Version 31.0.1650.63 m) - without clearing anything - and I was still logged into the site. Internet Explorer behaves as expected.

Hi Maarten,

Can you shutdown your PC and restart in "SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING" option and test again. I guess it might be due to a spyware or an adware, which should not affect with the way I suggested you to start your computer.

Lalit, I have rebooted several times (including safe mode). Hell, I even reinstalled Chrome (uninstall-reboot-install-reboot). This is the result. Posting from Chrome without logging in.

Maaher, and others who have the problem:

What extensions or plugins do you have installed? Maybe it is one of those.

I use Chrome (I gave up on bloated Firefox long ago) and I do not have the problem you are exhibiting.

I am using Windows XP SP3.
