Ok, that is my problem, a thorough knowledge of the options. All I want to do is load the scott/tiger database to run sqlplus, forms and reports for my class. then I will take it off my home computer. I do not mind reinstalling but I need to know what I have to have and what I will not need.

Any ideas.

thanks

If you have 9i of same version on both ends then EXP, IMP is best for you. These utilities of Oracle help you to export data or user or users and import the same somewhere else. EXP will create a file, take that home and use IMP to import. Details can be found in Oracle utilities doc.
