After I install Oracle 8.1.7, http server can't start.
Why? I use WIN2000(Pentium 4).
by the way,
In the installed folde --oradata, it is more than 400MB, it is so big. Can I make the size smaller.
So that I can save some disk place. How to do it?
Will it effect my Oracle? thanks a lot.

Check the Apache log file - $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/log/error_log. You will find the error messages there. Post them if you cannot figure out the problem.
Where is that "oradata" directory? Did you create database already, are there any datafiles *.DBF inside? If so, connect to your db and shrink the datafiles?
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE 'datafile_name.dbf' RESIZE new_size [[K|M]]

Hope that helps,
