Anybody pls tell me how to start two databases
at a time. i am using oracle 8.1.5 in windows NT

Just to mention two such ways:

1. Create batch script as:

net start OracleService"SID_1"
net start OracleService"SID_2"

2. Create batch script as:

set oracle_sid="SID_1"
svrmgrl @c:tempstart_sid_1.sql

set oracle_sid="SID_2"
svrmgrl @c:tempstart_sid_2.sql

and

start_sid_2.sql should be:

connect internal
startup
exit
