I have installed Oracle 8i (server installation) on my machine.The OS is Win 2000 advanced server.But I have problems starting the Oracle Enterprise Manager which is required during importing of the database.Please guide me for the same.

Why OEM is required during the import of the database? Are you trying to use OEM for export/import of the database? If so then you will need OMS which makes the picture more complex. You have to make sure OMS software is installed and OMS repository is created.

Here are some tips how to do that.

Can you clarify why do you need OEM to import the database? Can you just use exp/imp binaries?
