Dear All,
Here, i am little bit confuse about the percentage of the term "execute to parse %". If it's percentage would be "-ve" means, SQL statement parsing lot but executing less. May be user running reports. Here, value is 50%, what should I suggest to client? Do i tell them that performance of database is fine?
Waiting for your reply...
Regards,
Ishika

I would handle this differently. You ask this:Quote:what should I suggest to client? Do i tell them that performance of database is fine? which is not the correct approach. No client has ever telephoned the help desk to complain that "the execute to parse ratio is bad". They complain about things like "this report is too slow" or "this screen doesn't refresh fast enough". Focus on identifying the problem, in business terms, first. Only then can you look at possible reasons.

Dear John,
The database size is small. As of now, there are no performance issue. I have give feedback on this, to client. That's why i want to about it.

Dear Michel,
I read your mentioned link and come to conclusion that even if execute to parse% is 2, database performance is good. Percentage below 0 is the problem. Am I correct here?

Ishika

Ishika, I'll try again: you have missed the point!
Database performance is not GOOD or BAD according to some ratio. It is GOOD if your users find it acceptable, it is BAD if they do not find it acceptable. You said earlier that, to quote you, "As of now, there are no performance issue". Therefore, performance is GOOD. That is the only report you can give your client.
Do you understand what I'm saying? If not, you could Google "compulsive tuning disorder" which is a supposedly amusing term to describe pointless tuning activity.
