I rarely install databases and - when I do - it is for my own amusement (such as reformatting the hard disk and, among other stuff, putting Oracle database back). I think I never even installed 11g apart from XE. However, I *know* that this was quite a simple task; OUI did the job perfectly. Now, once again, I accepted all default parameters because I'm the only user and I don't really care much about tweaking it up. After all, I'm not a DBA.
I'm just wondering: if you installed 11g on Windows 7 30 times (long time ago, though - how "long" can that be as Windows 7 was released in 2009), how come you didn't remember ANYTHING about it?
Finally, what do you mean by saying Quote:

What IP address? What does it have to do with the job you'd like to do?

Quote:With just the ip address available, how to install the oracle 11g software on windows 7? Are you saying that you have the ip address of a machine, and that you want to connect to it remotely in order to do an installation? If so, ask the system administrator to give you either a remote desktop connection, or to install and start a VNC desktop. My preference is VNC.
But that seems a trivial question. Are you actually asking something else?
