Hello,
We are developing a web based system. Our application which would be hosted on a web server would access Oracle server through a connection pool. The application would access the DB via one single user only. But the connection pool would be of the size of say, 50 or may be more.
What kind of license are we supposed to go for? Will it be based on number of connections or number of users that can be created in the DB or number of processors on the DB server m/c?
Any idea or source for information would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The latest Oracle licensing is based on the no of CPU of the server. I think it is US$ 40,000/cpu in US but have no idea where you are. Check out with the sales person.

Any Web application using Oracle database must have (Power Unit ( MHz*CPU's*1.5 - RISC, Mhz*CPU's - Intel) or (per CPU) license. It doesn't matter if your Web application is using one user to connect to the database, and then pool of web connections are served.
That is 100% sure - recently dealed with Oracle Sales person regarding the same case.
Hope that helps,
