I did some looking and the audit files produced are "*.aud". It doesn't say and "abort" was used but will tell you if a job or user is shutting it down. Here is an example:
Audit file /ora/oracle/app/oracle/product/8.1.7/rdbms/audit/ora_11253.aud
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.1.0 - Production
JServer Release 8.1.7.1.0 - Production
ORACLE_HOME = /ora/oracle/app/oracle/product/8.1.7
System name: SunOS
Node name: anteros
Release: 5.8
Version: Generic_108528-05
Machine: sun4u
Instance name: khamtest
Redo thread mounted by this instance: 1
Oracle process number: 12
Unix process pid: 11253, image: oracle@anteros (TNS V1-V3)
Mon Jul 8 10:39:02 2002
ACTION : 'shutdown'
Mon Jul 8 10:39:07 2002
ACTION : 'startup' AUDIT_TRAIL : false
Mon Jul 8 10:39:07 2002
ACTION : 'startup' OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX :
This is what you will see in the alert log if an "abort" is issued:
Shutting down instance (abort)
License high water mark = 5
Instance terminated by USER, pid = 11253
