Hi ,
I am trying to upgrade an 8i database to 9i . Can anyone pls provide me a checklist which should be verified while doing this upgrade ? Are there any security loop holes in 9i server which we need to take care of ?
Also can you share your experiences of upgrading to 9i ?

Thanks for ur help in advance .

Regards,
Vishnu

SIR,

NO NEEDS TO VERIFY.JUST EXPORT ALL THE TABLES IN 8I AND IMPORT IN THE ORACLE 9I .BUT USE ONLY ORACLE9I 'S IMPORT AND EXPORT UTILITY.

DO NOT USE EXPORT/IMPORT !!! IT WILL CORRUPT YOUR DATA DICTIONARY !

Consult this note before starting Upgrade 8i to 9i

You have to go through a lots of steps before finaly upgrading your data dictionary with SQL>$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/u0801070.sql - (for 8.1.7). If you have other version run the appropriate script.

Hope that helps,
