Hi,
I keep getting the ORA-01033 error message when I try to log on to the database. As per the information I got from this site,I am unable to repair my database. It says I am to connect as internal/oracle as sysdba but the point is I am unable to get in. Please give me a clear reply and how to repair the same.

I received this error once when I was bouncing between two databases on the same server. When I wanted to use one or the other, I would set the appropriate system variables (%pfile%, %oracle_sid%, etc.) and rename the password files from PWDnnnn.ora to PWDnnnn.ora.save for the former database and PWDnnnn.ora.save to PWDnnnn.ora for the current database. When I forgot to rename the password file, I received the dreaded ORA-01033 error.

hi,
Best you check your trace file (search in oracle directory ) for the last *.trc file
As such you find probably the cause of your problem.
In my case it was I had deleted whole directory with th database files system01......
As such I had to recreate the database and reload a recent dump into it.

Note that although about all database files were missing, the related service was still starting properly(???)
