How to capture a return value from LOV at run time [message #555974]

Hi All,

I have a field say field A which has to be enabled/disabled based on the return value from an LOV.
ex: if lov returns A then field A should be enabled
anything other than A, then field A should be disabled.

Do we have any function to get the return value from LOV?

Where are you putting the returned value? If nowhere, then put it in a non-database column.

I am returning the value to DB columns.
I was able to get the values form the same columns.

I don't know what this means. It's way too ambiguous.
If you have a solution, post it here for others who may have the same problem in the future.

WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger on item that is supposed to contain a value returned by a LoV might be one choice (SET_ITEM_PROPERTY is then used to enable/disable other items).
