Hi everyone!

Several questions that are keeping me awake at night ;)

What are the advantages (if any) of putting 2 datafiles for one tablespace on seperate disks on windows NT?
Will this help speeding up my database performance?

If you can help me on this one, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,

Robin Urff.

Putting data files in 2 diff disks is a good thing as mentioned by Sharma. In other tech term, this is called 'physically stripping'. Just make sure that these 2 disks are of physically same performance (make, type, speed .... and so on).

Later.

A question to all. What if the datafiles are on a SAN? Does it make any difference or they still need to be spread to other disks to improve I/O?
