hi
I am surprisingly able to access the data dictionary as a normal user. I didnt give any priviliges to this user except connect.
I can tell u in detail here...
I have a user with name SAMPLE_USER. I granted CONNECT,RESOURCE,DBA to SAMPLE_USER. Later i revoked RESOURCE & DBA from SAMPLE_USER. Now...If i say select * from v$parameter...I am able to veiw the list of parameters from v$parameter!!!!!
how is it possible??? Could anybody explain it..

I did EXACTLY as you have mentioned and at the end, the user could not see any of the dictionary tables.
Did you grant any thing else ?
like 'select any table' to the user ?
You can also try and see. Repeat the same procedure as mentioned above.
