Hi Team,

The developer team wants to test their application.
For the same they need some data which resides at oracle 8i instance.
However they are not able to create a dblink between 11g and 8i as this is not supported by oracle.

Now they want the data to be refreshed from 8i to 11g by exp/imp.

Apart from exp and imp is there is any other alternatives?

Please suggest.

Spool the data you want to a csv file and load it with sqlloader.
Spool the data you want as insert statements to a file and load that way.

Do you have, by any chance Oracle 9i database installed and accessible from both Oracle 8i and 11g? If so, try to create a database link from 8i to 9i, and then from 9i to 11g.

I'm not saying that it will work; if I remember well, we used that "trick" to connect 8i and 10g. Hopefully, it'll work for you too.
