Hi there,

When I installed Oracle 8i (8.1.7) on Solaris 8 (Ultra-5), I got:

ORA-03114: not connected to Oracle

during the database creation stage (dbassist) at roughly around 84%, during the "Initialising Database stage". I have tried running root.sh with all the Oracle Environment variables set.

I have tried re-installing from scratch, with no success. I am very desperate for a solution.

Could someone please point me in the right direction.

The following recommended values for /etc/system did not have any effect.

* set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=4294967295
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=6294967295
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmin=1
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni=100
set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg=10
set semsys:seminfo_semmni=100
set semsys:seminfo_semmsl=100
set semsys:seminfo_semmns=200
set semsys:seminfo_semopm=100
set semsys:seminfo_semvmx=32767

Thanks.
