I've installed my Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris8.
Vainly or not I want to transfer my databases to Win 2k server as the server is easy to be administered there.
I 'd like to find any comparisons of this two systems, applicable to Oracle.(URL or your own oppinion)
Thanks in advance.

We've always had problems running Oracle on NT. We reboot our HP-UX servers once a month as maintenance. We reboot our NT servers every night out of necessity. Otherwise, they lock-up/freeze/crash etc.

Don't frighten me!
What does "out of necessity" mean?
If Oracle works so bad, your probably need to tune it well.My Oracle on Solaris worked approximately 1.5 years without rebooting.
I asked about probable advantages of Solaris compared to Win2k concerning to memory,I/O,processor utilization. In other words, What Oracle on Solaris can and Oracle on WinNT can't.
For instance, raw device.
