Dear Guys,
I have created a dmp file using 8i.
now i want to import it using oracle 8.
but when i type this command imp80 with the required parameters it is giving me the following error
imp-00069
What could be the reason ....how do i import the dmp file?????

Exporting and importing is not backward compatible (but is forward compatible of coarse).
Try exporting with the exp of oracle8 and then import with imp of oracle8.

Try setting the "COMPATIBLE" parameter. This is given to you by Oracle to ensure ealier release compatibility.
