I have Oracle 7 database on Server1. I need to connect this using Oracle client from windows XP.
I have downloaded Oracle client 3.0 and when I am trying to connect it saying "Unable to connect: Unsupported Oracle version".
Please help.
Thanks
SD
Could it be that Oracle 7 is no longer supported?
What do you think?

Quote:By the way, I found a note (207303.1) that shows that a 7.3.3 can't connect to a 9i database
This is why we ask Oracle version with at least 4 decimals. In addition, your case is the opposite: connect a version 7 database from a 9i client.
Quote:It also shows that all connections using a client version below 9.2.0 is unsupported by Oracle
Yes but with a database in 7.3.3 I should not be worry about my client...
