Hello ;

We are going to implement a system on Oracle standard edition one.please can some one clarify below qurries

1.Is there any major differnce bitween SE and SE1.please veiw in functions,fetures,performamce and softwares.

2.Is it possble to use SE and SE1 editions at live and DR site respectively.

2.1 Can we backup and restore /replicate SE and SE1 datanases.

3.Is it possible to upgrade SE1 to SE /EE Directly without major hastles.

1. No major difference except the maximum sockets available in the cluster (if you have 2 sockets on machine A end 2 sockets on machine B in a cluster it counts as 4, even if some are empty)
2. No problem
2.1 No problem, same installbase
3. According to the oracle website there should be no major hassles. Downgrading is another story.
4. Somewhere on the Oracle website there is a buying guide which goes in detail for every build. Even then it is a puzzle.
