Developer is importing some large volumes of data. As the filesystem was filling up fast, I removed the all the archive log files. Will this affect the functioning of database? It is a development environment.

If you remove archiveg lods (without backing them up) then you can't recover anything from your database to a more recent point than the last archived logs before the first one you deleted."
You mean to say that we wont be able to recover the database to the more recent point (time) without the current archive logs,but can recover until the period with whatever archivelogs are available. Right?
