Dears,

I have oracle e business R12.

I Would like to depreciate asset from date in service.

for example if I have fiscal year start from Jan, I have monthly (12 period) depreciation and prorate calendars, date in service 15/jul/2010, and its life is 3 years and i am using STL Method

how i can start depreciate from 15/jul/2010 to 31/aug/2011 and not start from 01/jul/210 to 31/aug/2011 as prorate conventions that defined (From Date 01/jul/2010 to Date 31/jul/2010 and Prorate Date 31/jul/2010).

Thanks In Advance

Hi Raul,

Please Create the Asset Category and attach the STL Method with 3 years and Prorate Convention should be Daily Calendar.

1. Now create the Fresh asset and attach the above category to new asset then it will calculate from Date Placed in Service

Thanks & Regards,
Madhu

and I will calculate the depreciation of old asset to the new system(oracle e busines) from 2010 until Now.

and this is my prorate calender:

from date to date prorate date
01/jan/2010 31/jan/2010 31/jan/2010
01/feb/2010 28/feb/2010 28/feb/2010
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
01/dec/2011 31/dec/2011 31/dec/2011

And What do you mean about Daily prorate Convention
Do You Mean like this
from date to date prorate date
01/jan/2010 01/jan/2010 01/jan/2010
02/jan/2010 02/jan/2010 02/jan/2010
03/jan/2010 03/jan/2010 03/jan/2010
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
30/dec/2011 30/dec/2011 30/dec/2011
31/dec/2011 31/dec/2011 31/dec/2011
