Hi,

When i try to change the user account password, i get following error.

alter user bala
identified by Ju4hlsd2;

*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-20178: ORA-20176: ORA-28003: password verification for the specified
password failed
ORA-20007: Password cannot consist of sequences of 3+ characters from the
userid

Please advice how to set the password based on the error.

This error is begin returned by the password verification function that you have specified in your profile. You know all about profiles, from your previous question.
Over to you, now: I won't give you any more free help until you prove that you have read the relevant documentation again, and done some investigation. You know how to do this.

Once again, YOU (or your application manager or DBA) define the rules.
This is NOT an Oracle error but a functional one.

In addition, the message is ONCE AGAIN quite clear (if you can trust it as it seems your developers have the same (infra-)level than you).

Error message: Password cannot consist of sequences of 3+ characters from the userid.

Maybe I don't understand it, but - where does "Ju4hlsd2" contain a sequence of 3+ characters from "bala"?

Tbis is why I said: "if you can trust it as it seems your developers have the same (infra-)level than you" (as some previous topics seem to show it).

This error i fixed it. The username and the password i gave was different. Now i understood the meaning of the error.

Thank you for your effort in making me understand the meaning of the error.
