Hi there,
My company has acquired a technology that was written in Oracle Forms 6-8 and am looking to first compile and maintain and then upgrade to either 11g or another platform. The older versions of Oracle Development cannot be downloaded from Oracle's site. Will Oracle provide the link if asked? Is it available elsewhere?

First, what do you mean Forms 6-8?
Do you need to ever have it running as a 6i form, or can you move it to 10g/11g right off the bat?
Do you have a .fmb file? 10g and I assume 11g would open a 6i developer Form.

They are written with Oracle forms 6 and last complied and deployed with Oracle Forms 8. We just want to get to a point that we can maintain these forms with the least amount of work so we can take stock and plot a way forward.
Is it a straightforward process to open the Oracle 6 forms in Oracle 11g or is there some sort of form transformation that needs to occur.

I never heard of such a version. When I first saw your initial message, I translated your "Forms 6-8" as an "application written in Forms 6i connected to Oracle 8i database". Are you sure it is "Forms 8"? (Because, there were SQL*Forms 3.0, Forms 4.5, Forms 6i, Forms 9i, Forms 10g ... no Forms 8, as far as I can tell).
"Straightforward" process you mentioned would, actually, be "migration" from the older version to a newer one. I don't know whether it is possible to open a 6i form with Forms 11g Developer, compile it and have it ready to go. Note that you'll have to pay attention to libraries and menus as well. Also, what about reports? Do you have them too?
