Selfmade Dataguard [message #495324]

Hi everyone!

I was considering a solution to maintain a replicated copy of a database in a remote office.
However we are using SE One edition of oracle, so native support for dataguard is not available.
There definitely should be some scripting solutions for this task, but I can't find any to date.

Any advices?

10 minutes lag is too much for my application. Is there any reason to set lag time to be less than a minute? Say 15 seconds?

You can set it as you want but it is useless to set it far below the time to fill a log and generate an archived log.

All third-party solutions are paying ones, in this case why not purchase an EE and use the built-in solution?

Simple, the price of EE is very high, and we don't need all the extra functions EE provides (only the DataGuard). In addition, when upgrading we will definitely have to deal with Oracle's support fees and practices. Sad
