Hi Michel,
Our reuirement is..we want to block some IP's for not to allow connections to the db.
Can this be implemented only on 1 database or will it be applicable on all the database in the oracle home?
Thanks
Manohar

Hi Manohar,
This can restrict access to specific IPs. But it will be applicable to all the databases in that specific Oracle Home.
Also the users who have login access to the database will not be able use the db from the restricted IPs.

Antony

If you have an Enterprise Edition license you can restrict access to particular services by using Connection Manager as a proxy server. It is much more sophisticated than doing it with the listener in sqlnet.ora.

If you want to keep the simplicity of sqlnet.ora then use several Oracle homes.
Otherwise you have to go to CMAN (Connection MANager) as John said.
