Hi I Have a database in which a datafile is deleted.I want to know how to recover the datafile if the file doesnot exist but we have all the archive logs.

I know we have to create a empty datafile and apply the logs but i cannot mount the database as the datafile is not found.Please help me

The datafile belongs to which tablespace?

DATA is the tablespace name...I created it manually....

You can create what the file or the tablespace? Does the tablespace still exist?
How did you delete the file? At OS level or SQL one?

OS level and I have all the archive logs since database was created....Yes the tablespace still exists...How can I create the datafile again....When I open the database it says database not found...

A Basic Question sekar52 , since you have delete the data file at OS level can't you get it
from recycle bin ? ( unless it too big the OS will directly Delete it [with Message Box] )
