Hi all,

I am new to this, can any one please send me the cloning process of oracle 9i on windows 2003 please.

I need to create test database instance on same server as the production.

I do not have RMAN on that server!! I was handed th server to create clone of dtabase on same server with Testname. what are the steps i need to follow ot create the clone on server.

Simplest way: stop the database, copy ALL the files (data, log, control, init.ora/spfile, password...) to the same locations, create a new instance on target server (see ORADIM), start both databases.

If you have a database on the server, then you have RMAN (unless someone actually removed the rman executable).

If you do not want to use RMAN to duplicate the database, then you can consider Cloning An Oracle Database on Windows.
