Dear all,

We have Oracle 10g database on windows 2008 server. Since we can't take database backup kept on disk to tape for Windows 2008 server, we need to take RMAN backup directly on ultrium tape. How to take RMAN backup directly on ultrium tape?
Do we need any MML ?

Thanks

Initially, we were having Windows 2000 server & we were using NTBACKUp utility to take backup on tape. Since there is no free s/w such as NTBACKUP in windows 2008 server, we can't use NTBACKUP utility. So we are thinking of directly taking backup on ultrium tape using RMAN. Please help.

You have to buy a MML (Media Manager Layer) software to directly backup onto tape.
Nothing is free in this world.
